Cambridge Assessment Admissions Testing
Administering our tests
Compare the two sessions and take our quick quiz to help you decide.
If you are applying for Medical and Dentistry courses at certain universities, you can take the BioMedical Admissions Test (BMAT) on Saturday 1 September 2018. This means you will receive your BMAT result before the UCAS application deadline.
The September session is available at nearly 30 test centres around the UK and internationally.
BMAT – September is an alternative test date for BMAT in October. The test will have the same format and will be scored in the same way as the October test. Test sections will be equated so that scores across the two sessions will be equivalent. Results from either session will be considered equally by the institutions/courses participating in BMAT – September, so when you take the test is your choice.
For BMAT – September, you must register yourself online for the test when registration is open. Find out more about registration for BMAT – September.
For BMAT – October, your school/college/test centre needs to register you for the test when registration is open. Find out more about registration for BMAT – October.
Please note, some institutions/courses will not accept September results.
BMAT is a 2-hour, pen-and-paper test divided into three sections. You can see what is in each section below.
Section 1: Aptitude and Skills
Section 2: Scientific Knowledge and Applications
Section 3: Writing Task
For more detailed information about the format of BMAT, see the BMAT test specification.
