Cambridge Assessment Admissions Testing - Administering our tests

Register test-takers

The following information applies if you are registering test-takers for:

  • BMAT – November*
  • STEP Mathematics
  • Test of Mathematics for University Admission (TMUA)
  • University of Cambridge pre-interview assessments
  • University of Oxford admissions tests and MAT for Imperial College London and the University of Warwick.

* Registration for BMAT – September is different to the November session. Please see Registering for other tests below.

For our other admissions tests, please see the Registering for other tests section below.

All candidates need to be entered for our admissions tests via the Entries Extranet, a secure website that allows Exams Officers at authorised centres to register, view, modify and withdraw candidate entries.

If your school or college is not set up as an authorised centre but you wish to register candidates for our admissions tests, visit Become a test centre.

It takes some time to gather all the information you need to make your entries. Work closely with subject teachers and heads of department to make sure you enter the right candidates for the right tests.

Registration process

You can register your candidates, following three simple steps:

1. Collect the following information from the candidate

  • Name (exactly as it appears on their UCAS application and/or passport or national ID document)
  • UCAS ID (if available)
  • Gender
  • Date of birth
  • Access arrangements
  • University and course applied to.

It is very important to ensure that these details are accurate and match what the student puts in their UCAS application, so that the student’s results can be sent to the correct university.

You can use the registration forms provided on our Support Site to help you capture all the information you need to register candidates. You will need your login details to access the Support Site. Please note, the forms are only available when registration is open.

Access the registration forms

2. Register the candidate for their admissions test

Log into the Entries Extranet and enter the candidate’s information. Make a note of the candidate number once you have successfully registered their details. You can download the Entries Extranet User Guide here.

3. Pass the relevant information on to the candidate

Let the candidate know they have been successfully registered for the admissions test, by providing them with the candidate number generated by the Entries Extranet.
