Cambridge Assessment Admissions Testing
For test-takers
For institutions
You are here:
Results will be released on 28 March 2023.
You need to use our Metritests system to check your BMAT results and release them to your chosen institution(s). You do this by logging into the Metritests account you created to book the test.
Results are not sent to non-UK institutions automatically. You need to select which institutions receive your results. This can be done at any stage after purchasing the test, though you may want to wait till results are released. It’s a good idea to make your selection(s) as soon as possible after the results are released, to ensure the institutions receive them in good time.
Please check the institution website for any information about when they need the results.
You are responsible for sharing your results via Metritests. Universities will not consider results provided in any other way.
To share your results with your chosen institution(s):
If you do not make your selection using the Metritests system, your test results will not be provided to the institution.
Before results are released on 28 March, you can add or remove selected institutions. After this, once your results have been published, you cannot remove an institution or course from the results website – the institution(s) will instantly receive your results – but you can add further institutions.
Applicants must only take BMAT once in an admissions cycle. Taking the test twice may be viewed by a university as an attempt to gain unfair advantage.
BMAT results are only valid in the year that the test is taken and cannot be carried over to a re-application.
Likewise, a candidate’s score from one year will not affect their chances of re-applying in later years, as each application is considered afresh.
Students are not expected to get everything right in BMAT, and a typical candidate will get about half of the questions correct.
BMAT scores are used differently by universities; some will place more importance on your results than others. Check with your university directly for more information.
If you believe that there has been an error in the processing or reporting of your results, you can ask your centre to submit a Results Enquiry on your behalf. For BMAT – March 2023 the deadline for submitting a results enquiry is 1 April 2023.
If a candidate thinks a Malpractice case or a Results Enquiry outcome was incorrectly handled, they can submit an Appeal.
