Important information about BMAT – October 2022
Both the registration deadline and the test date are earlier than in previous years.
Please also note that BMAT will be a pen-and-paper test this year.
Follow our simple step-by-step guide below to find out how to register for the BioMedical Admissions Test (BMAT).
Firstly, speak to the Exams Officer at your school/college to find out if they are registered to run our admissions tests. If they are, then proceed to the next step.
If not, you have two options:
If you are attending a school in the Singapore school system (see list below), or have graduated from one in the last year, please contact the SEAMEO Regional Language Centre to register for the test.
If you are in Singapore but are not attending a school in the list above, you can register for the test by contacting the British Council, Singapore.
If you are an international student, use our website to find the nearest test centre.
To be registered for the test, you will be asked to provide the following:
Please note: The deadline to apply for modified papers is 16 September 2022. The deadline to apply for all other Access Arrangements is 30 September 2022.
As proof that you are registered for the test, make sure you get your candidate entry number from your Exams Officer. Your entry number will start with a B, followed by five digits.
To ensure you know what to expect from the test day, check the full details with your test centre. They’ll be able to provide information about the test including the specific location, timings and what to bring with you on the test day.

Your school/college may be eligible to apply to become a test centre. The deadline to apply is 16 September 2022 at 12.00 noon (BST).

Yes, your Exams Officer can cancel your test registration for you but only up until 30 September 2022.
If you paid additional administration fees, it is up to your test centre as to whether they will refund these fees. Please speak to your test centre directly.
Please inform your test centre as early as possible of any special requirements.

Please note that by registering and taking the BioMedical Admissions Test (BMAT), you are agreeing that data provided as part of the entry or admission process may be passed to Cambridge Assessment Admissions Testing and any institution involved in your application for a place at one of the BMAT institutions, and also that your data may be anonymised and used for research purposes (including by the General Medical Council for the purposes of the Medical Act 1983 and the UKMED Development Group). You also agree that if you obtain a place on a course where BMAT results form part of the admissions process, then your university may supply Cambridge Assessment Admissions Testing with data about your application and results in subsequent assessments at that university, unless you specifically notify the university in writing. We store personal data securely and will ensure if test-taker data is used in publications or research that it is used anonymously.
