BMAT Section 2 guide
Access the guide
The guide provides an overview of the scientific and mathematical knowledge which BMAT Section 2 questions can draw on. You will have covered much of this content in your school-based study of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. Where you have not covered a topic or would like more revision, use this guide as a study tool alongside support from your teachers, textbooks or other reliable resources.
Please note: If when you have registered to access the guide you find that the subject areas are not showing, return to this page, click the Access the guide button above and log in again. If you have any further problems accessing the guide, please contact our Helpdesk.
The topics that Section 2 questions can draw on are also listed in the BMAT test specification below.

Practice papers
To familiarise yourself with the way that BMAT Section 2 assesses scientific knowledge and application, we suggest that you practise with past papers (without a calculator). Start off by trying questions without worrying about timing, and then apply time constraints so that you build up to working under exam conditions. After sitting any past paper, mark your answers, and then review where you have gaps in your knowledge. Some topics in previous practice papers are NO LONGER examined. It is marked in each paper which questions are currently off specification.
