Follow our simple step-by-step guide below to find out how to register for your Cambridge pre-registration assessment.

1. Find a test centre

Firstly, speak to the Exams Officer at your school/college to find out if they are registered to run our admissions tests. If they are, then proceed to the next step.

If not, you have two options:

  • Your school can check to see if it is eligible to apply to become a test centre. The deadline to do this is 15 September 2023 at 12.00 noon (BST).
  • You can find an alternative venue from our global network of test centres.

2. Ask the Exams Officer to register you for the test

To be registered for the test, you will be asked to provide the following:

  • personal details such as your name and date of birth
  • UCAS number
  • the names of the courses/universities you are applying to
  • medical evidence if you require modified question papers or any Access Arrangements such as extra time.

Please note: The deadline to apply for modified papers is 15 September 2023. The deadline to apply for all other Access Arrangements is 29 September 2023.

3. Get your candidate entry number as proof of registration

As proof that you are registered for the test, make sure you get your candidate entry number from your Exams Officer.

Have you got more questions? See below

Can my school/college register to become a test centre?

Your school/college may be eligible to apply to become a test centre. The deadline to apply is 15 September 2023 at 12.00 noon (BST).

Details of how to do this can be found on our Customer Support Site.

I cannot find a test centre nearby, what can I do?

If you cannot find a test centre in your home town or nearby, and your school is not eligible to administer our tests, you will need to travel to the closest test centre.

How do I apply for Access Arrangements?

Please inform your test centre as early as possible of any special requirements.

Access Arrangements are available if you have a disability or special requirement and you are entitled to support for other exams.

Examples of Access Arrangements include, but are not limited to:

  • use of a laptop/computer
  • extra time
  • separate invigilation
  • enlarged papers (modified question paper).

Your centre will:

  • ask for full details of your disability or special requirement
  • ask you for a copy of your medical evidence
  • submit the request for Access Arrangements, if appropriate.

For more information about our policies and processes, please visit our Customer Support Site.
